All exercises used in practice of Transformational yoga are rather well-known, may be said even popular, and even may seem too simple, but it should be pointed out that this direction of yoga does not suit everyone. School founder Svami Vidyanand writes in book that this method suits for people of all ages and constitutions. In theory he is right. But practice looks like too extraordinary for people with western mindset, that’s why in some people’s opinion it is strange and unacceptable. Except for asanas and pranayama, singing of mantras and bramaris without musical accompaniment is actively used in Transformational yoga. It doesn’t fully comply with stereotype of conventional yoga classes. But people attending the classes think that yoga is first of all a spiritual practice.
In recreational gymnastics there are many directions, for example, pilates or Thomas Hanna’s gymnastics, which have common principles with hatha yoga, but absolutely do not touch internal layers of human existence. This is physical training only. Therefore if a person comes to yoga class, he or she shall be mentally ready to come across something quite unexpected.
Mental changes are the most difficult, sometimes it is extremely difficult and painful to break thinking molds and respectively – this way does not suit for everyone. But it is not caused by physical difficulties, but because mind will set traps and explain that all this doesn’t work, is inefficient etc. In spite of all forthcoming difficulties you are invited to try to perform the impossible, to cross the lines of your thinking templates and аchieve inner freedom.
